After months of planning and preparation, the BRAIN TUMOUR FOUNDATION (CAYMAN ISLANDS) “The Forgotten” was officially launched on 15th February 2014.
It is the vision of our President Ms. Brenda Archer who is herself a brain tumour survivor. Having launched in February, that month is now deemed our month of Awareness and Observance. Our defining colour is Orange.
This Foundation was formed to help and support persons affected by Brain Tumours and Aneurisms, and their families. The statistics are compelling and helps to drive us with this cause. With perseverance, dedication, and local knowledge, we started the Caymanian way, reaching out and touching people, rather than waiting for them to come to us.
One of our ultimate goals is to set up a Neuroscience Department or Wing right here in the Cayman Islands, with the relevant Medical personnel always present and available. Once this is established, patients can receive treatment at home and have the support of their families and loved ones. Early detection will be possible, early intervention can be done locally, imagine!
We'd love to hear from you. Whether you have a question about our services, the foundation mission or would like to become part of our community, drop us a line below and we'll do our best to get back to you right away.
